Trees of Reverie September Read-a-Thon

Once again, Sarah over at Trees of Reverie over on Tumblr is hosting a read-a-thon that runs from September 14th to the 21st. Since she's based over in Australia, the read-a-thon actually already started at 10 am here on the East Coast of the United States. I'm super excited to participate and since I have a lot of review books I need to catch up on, as well as some books for school, the read-a-thon comes at the perfect time. Here are the books I'm planning to read:

Check under the break for the full list of books plus my daily updates!

TBR List

  • Made for You by Melissa Marr
  • Afterworlds by Scott Westerfeld
  • Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas
  • Balance Keepers #1: The Fires of Calderon by Lindsay Cummings
  • In a Handful of Dust by Mindy McGinnis
  • Ozma of Oz by L. Frank Baum
  • Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie

Updates

I'll be updating my progress of the read-a-thon here as well as on Tumblr.

Day 1 + Day 2

My page count for day one was truly abysmal so I'm just going to combine both days into one update so I don't have to feel too terrible about myself. Overall both days combined were pretty decent. I finished one book (Ozma of Oz) and came very near to finishing a second (Made for You).

Day 3

Not that great of a day reading wise. I did finish Made for You but I only had about forty pages left so only a minor accomplishment there. I was planning on starting either The Balance Keepers or In a Handful of Dust but of course I already deviated from the plan. Instead I started The Queen of the Tearling, mostly because it's due at the library on Friday. Hopefully the motivation of the read-a-thon will help me finish it in time.

Day 4

Today was a much better reading day than yesterday. Aside from continuing The Queen of the Tearling, I also started an ARC of The Fires of Calderon, the first book in a new middle grade series by Lindsay Cummings. I've liked it so far although it is evident that it is written for a younger audience. Also, I was able to renew TQotT so I don't have to rush to read it, which is a load off my shoulders.

Day 5

I put Queen of the Tearling on hold for the day and instead picked up Heir of Fire again. I've basically been reading it since it got released but I've been reading it super slowly (not really sure why). I got really into it as I was going to sleep and I had to force myself to put it down! I continued with The Fires of Calderon and made some good progress there. I also started Scarlet by Marissa Meyer on audiobook and listened to a good chunk of it throughout the day as I walked to and from class. As you can see I have trouble sticking to just one book!

Day 6

I continued on reading Heir of Fire, The Fires of Calderon, and Scarlet. I didn't read a whole lot (mostly because I had class all day and I went to a book signing later that night) but I still read a decent amount.
