[Blog Update] Senior Year of College is Harder than I Expected

As you may have noticed I've been absent for the last month and even before then I have only been posting sporadically since August. It turns out that while my classes this semester aren't that difficult, there are a lot of other things that happen when you're getting ready for the next milestone of life, also known as graduation and post-graduation plans. All of these things combined have made for a busy semester and sadly, not a lot of reading or blogging.

But enough about me, you're here for the books and I'm back to bring all that bookish goodness you'd expect from a book blog. I have a lot of stuff planned for the next couple of weeks. Aside from the usual weekly features, I also have a bunch of reviews planned, some bookish discussion posts, and even a blog tour! Be on the lookout for those in the next couple of days and weeks.

I'm so glad to be back and hopefully this time I won't stay away for too long. Happy reading everyone!

[Blog Update] I'm Back!

First off, I want to apologize for the unexpected hiatus that occurred this past month. This post is going to get a little more personal, so if you're here solely for the books, feel free to skip this one. I was on vacation for half of August and studying for the GRE the second half. As a senior in college, I've been doing a lot of soul-searching deciding what I want to do with "the rest of my life" and I've settled on applying to various PhD programs in Materials Science and Engineering. What that boils down to is more standardized testing and going through the application process all over again. Bring on the high school flashbacks!

Basically, this is the reason I've been absent from book blogging for the last month. Until the new year rolls in and until all the applications are in, I can't promise consistency in my book blogging but I will still try my best to update this blog when I can. I will still be reading and I have quite a few books lined up for review so you can definitely look forward to that!

Thank you for still supporting me and my blog. I really appreciate every single one of my readers and when you stick with me through the thick and thin it gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Happy reading!

[Blog Update] Unbound Books 3.0

As you may have noticed, there have been a couple of changes around here during the last 24 hours. What started out as an attempt to add a drop down menu in the navigation bar turned into a full scale redesign of Unbound Books. Basically, I started watching all of these tutorial video and I decided I wanted to clean up the blog a little bit to make it look more professional. I've condensed the two sidebars into one, changed the background and basically just overhauled the theme as a whole. I think it turned out pretty well and I'm happy with the new design.

I'm Back! [Blog Update]

As you may have noticed, I have been pretty absent from this blog for the past month. If you follow me on Tumblr you may know that I was busy with final projects and exams as my third year of college cam to a close. However, I'm officially on summer vacation now and I'm back home for the summer. That means that book reviews, new release features, and my other weekly and monthly features are back in business, starting tomorrow! I will be working full time this summer at an internship, but unlike school, work ends at 5 pm and once I'm home, I don't have to worry about anything book books and blogging. I have a bunch of reviews that I'm working on and review books sitting on my Nook that I'm excited to read and share my thought with you. I will also be posting a bit on books I plan to read this summer and summer reading goals. But for now, I am just glad to be back!

Oops! [Blog Update]

I just wanted to apologize for missing out on this weeks "New Release Tuesday" and "Waiting on Wednesday" posts. It's a busy time at college right now, as I wrap up the semester. I have less than three weeks until summer break, which, while exciting, also means that I'm swamped with final projects, papers, and exams. I hope to be better prepared for the next few weeks and write posts up ahead of time so I'm not caught so off-guard when the week comes in full swing.

Again, I apologize, but never fear I have my monthly wrap-up and haul posts as well as my most anticipated new releases post ready to go up later today.

A Redesign! [Blog Update]

As you can probably tell there have been a few redesigns here at Unbound Books. I decided that the blog needed to freshen up, a spring cleaning of sorts. I started off by creating a banner from scratch using some of my own bookshelf photography. I also uncluttered the background with a more clean image instead of the slightly distracting bookshelf image. I'm going for a more streamlined, professional look while still keeping fun upbeat vibe that I feel gives the blog a little personality.

Unbound Books is now officially on Bloglovin'!

I know that a lot of people use Bloglovin' to follow different blogs and now that I've looked into it, it does seem like a really good platform. As far as I can tell, my blog has been on Bloglovin' for a while, so I've decided to officially join. I just wanted to update everyone and let you know that you can now Follow my blog with Bloglovin!

New Pages: Reviews and Book Recommendations

Just wanted to let you know that I've added two [2] new pages to the blog!

The first is a "Review" page, where I have consolidated a list of all my reviews that I will update as I review more books. It is organized alphabetically by author but there are also links to the different starred reviews. Since I do have a sizable amount of reviews I thought it would be a good to have them all in one place.

The second is a "Book Recommendations" page. I occasionally get asked to recommend book to people and while I am more than happy to recommend books if you ask, I also thought it would be a nice idea to have one easily accessible go to place to see all the books that I've enjoyed and recommend. I've given all of these books 4- or 5-star ratings. They are organized by genre so, if your looking for a specific kind of book, it should be easy to find.
