My Review

Note: I received and advance readers copy from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. This is a spoiler free review.

I thought Rebellion by Stephanie was a good sequel to Extraction, the first book in the Extraction trilogy. I no longer felt like I was constantly comparing it to other YA series and it felt like the story was coming into its own more. Sometimes, with sequels I feel like they just are extensions of the first book and don’t have their own Story. However, with Rebellion I do feel like it stands well on its own.

My Review

You wouldn't expect a science fiction book set on another planet with a moon that spits out acid to be described as realistic, but that’s exactly how I would describe Extraction by Stephanie Diaz. She manages to take this completely fiction world and translate into relatable experiences. Everything from her characters to the situations the find themselves in just seems like they could happen to me – you know if I happened to live on the planet of Kiel.

Extraction by Stephanie Diaz happens to be one of my most anticipated book of the year and you wouldn't believe how excited I am that it is finally out for everyone, including me, to read. I was hoping to get an eARC of the book but sadly I was not accepted. However, the day is finally here and now I just have to wait for the book to arrive in the mail so I can dive into it right away!

I'm not generally a huge fan of horror books, but Welcome to the Dark House by Laurie Faria Stolarz caught my attention as I was browsing through the lists of upcoming releases earlier this year. It seems really different from the YA that's out there and from the books I typically read. I'm hoping to pick this one up soon and see what it's all about.

This looks like a great mix of dystopian and science fiction and I've been waiting for Extraction by Stephanie Diaz to be released since last year. I'm excited to see what debut author Stephanie Diaz has to offer the world of science fiction. As one of my most anticipated releases of this month, July 22nd can't come soon enough.
